To us, the fans, she shall always be journalist Sarah Jane Smith. But to Sadie Miller, 26 years, Elisabeth Sladen is simply “Mum.”The young English graduate talks about her mother, the career that made Elisabeth so famous, and meeting past Doctors... Beautiful memories are shared of their time together, for example how “Mum loved being domestic and she was a very nurturing person: she used to come and teach at my school as a classroom helper and she did amazing parties. When I was six, I had a ‘mermaid party’ and Mum made fishtails for all the girls – and some of the boys – out of bubble wrap and sequins.”
And though she won't be watching the new series of The Sarah Jane Adventures at present, “I find it just a bit strange. I can’t really watch it too soon. But I know I’ll enjoy watching them again at some stage. And if I have children it will mean a lot to watch it with them. Mum would have been a wonderful grandma and I feel sad that she won’t get to experience that.”
