It is one of those 'What if...' situations: what if Season 17 had given us Shada? Sadly it just wasn't to be. The television story, written by legend Douglas Adams, was never completed due to a strike at the BBC during filming. It is a true 'lost' story...Thanks to the pen of writer Gareth Roberts, we will now be able to explore this adventure featuring the Fourth Doctor, Romana and K-9 for the first time in novel form. Due for release on 15th March 2012, Shada is based on the original scripts.
BBC Books has unveiled the brand new cover for the publication:

Don't forget that the Big Finish audio version is also still available via their official website - for £5! - starring Paul McGann as the Eigth Doctor, Lalla Ward as Romana, and John Leeson reprising his role as K9.
"The Doctor has a spot of unfinished business. Reunited with his old friends Romana and K9, he answers a summons from Professor Chronotis, a retired Time Lord now living the academic life in a Cambridge college. But the Doctor isn’t the only visitor to Cambridge. Somewhere in the city is the sinister alien Skagra, who is intent on stealing an ancient and mysterious book brought to Earth by the Professor many years before."
